I am an assistant professor of Economics and Finance at the Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics, Pune, Maharashtra, India.

My research areas are Inclusive Banking and Development Policy, Macroeconomic Policy, and Financial Economics. My current research focuses on three main themes: Fin Tech and social finance, policy alternatives for inclusive development, and skill development and women’s empowerment.

I have co-authored a book on “Inclusive Banking in India: Reimagining the Bank Business Model” (Palgrave Macmillan Publishers).

At present I am working on research projects on “Indian Fintech and Financial Inclusion”, and “Social Impact Bonds”.

I have been teaching Macroeconomics and finance, Financial Economics and Financial Derivatives to M. Sc. courses at Gokhale Institute.

My early work is on secondary market in life insurance products. I have an India patent published on “A Financial Engineering System and Method for Trading of Endowment Life Assurance Based Product.”

I have been involved in the voluntary work, V.C.J Institute of Research & Development, a think tank on research in inclusive banking, as a honorary Director of Research & Development.
